    Hey guys,

so basically yeah, in both Firefox & Safari, none of googles websites will open for me. Whenever I try to log on I get "Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com."

I get this for all the above websites also, I am with eircom, using a macbook, connecting wirelessly to a netopia router. I can connect fine to all the above using my iPhone, just not with the Mac, also my next door neighbour let me use their eircom account to test it & it's the same through theirs.

I hope someone can help :-(

Any third-party ad or ip blocker installed? Such as PeerGuardian or GlimmerBlocker?

I did have peerguardian, but I just deleted it there as I have no need for it really, but still the same after.

PeerGuardian is the cause. You should have disabled it rather than deleted it. It runs in the background. Try restarting. If that doesn't work you'll have to find and manually remove the background app.

Cheers Sad Professor, you are an absolute legend! I couldn't delete the background apps, because they were still in use, so I downloaded the original package again and used the uninstaller to remove them. Thanks again man!

i get this every so often to, its really weird! everything google related (YouTube, Gmail, Google.ie, Blogger) dones't seem to connect, but other things do

Nothing weird installed either, have to restart my connection to fix it.
How often does it happen? Are you sure it's not that Google itself actually is down? It's happened a couple of times in the last year, as I recall.

And what connection do you restart? Your router or your Mac's airport connection?
