I would like to complete the JEB Diploma part-time in Limerick or nearby in Spring 2010.

If there were other people interested in getting this qualification by September 2010 maybe we could form a group and approach an institution that generally provides this course (Limerick/Ennis/Mallow/Nenagh) to consider running over a mixture of evenings / saturdays as some providers in Dublin are doing currently.

HSI Limerick were to be running a course over 10 weeks startin 13 april 2010 (Tue-Thurs days) but could not make the numbers so its cancelled ---- I think there would be a lot more interest if it were run on Saturdays

please make sure you know exactly what your signing up for when you pay for this course.

i did this course in cavan and it was the BIGGEST waste of money ever. i basically paid for the piece of paper of completion!!

i did mine on a saturday

as a teacher you dont have to do the psychology module as youve completed this in your PGDE. which we were told was 1/3 of the total course.. as a result all teachers left at lunch time which was around 1. psychology part was in the evening. BUT we still had to pay the ENTIRE value of the course. wasnt impressed!

exams then cost 250 euro at the end.. we got a discount of 25 euro for not doing the psychology exam. exam fees were advertised as 150 for teachers. when questioned we were told that was the sterling price and that the ad min fees had gone up.even though the others price stayed the same at 250!! makes my blood boil!! grrrrr

jst make sure you have all details before starting this course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would also question the value of possessing this diploma. apart from FAS ,IT is not a proper subject in schools and in the corporate IT training world it would be of no use to you as,
1 there is no demand for app/ecdl type courses any more.
2 people with real world IT experience and technical knowledge are favoured, regardless of qualifications.
