Hi, I represent River Riders Poker League, based out of Athy in Co. Kildare. We are a collection of working class folk who have a clubhouse, a decent standard of equipment and a love for our league which is played every 2nd Friday @ 8.30pm. We used to get a good crowd of 11-16 people regulary but since the economy went down the tubes attendance has dropped. Now we get 5-8 players per league game. Although we are amatuers, we are highly competetive. Our league climaxes in a grandfinal, where your performance in the league dictates your starting chip stack, basically 10k plus your bonus's you pick up in the league. But whatever your bonus is, it also is the bounty on your head. This makes for a very competetive game as non league players still have eveything to play for. All league games are €10 to enter. We are also starting an online league in the comming weeks. So if you are local and looking for a game then check out out website at http://riverriders.webs.com
We also run a pub tourney every Tuesday night in The Crookstown Inn, Crookstown, Ballytore. Entry fee is €15 + €5.

hello athy, now seeing as the main man from poker lives down your way, does your games or games have any connection with the celtic games? and if so do you have the same kind of cash games on the side?

No, we're small time. We keep our spendings small and our competitivness high :D.
Its €10 to play in our league games with only one rebuy allowed. The rebuy also effects you points earned. So as you can see, any player cant spend over €20 per game.
