dont see any posts on this so i decided i would put it up.

basically bob arum was on newstalk off the ball the other day talkin bout the 3 irish middleweights and their world title credentials.

on duddy he says he is marketable and has big fanbase, if he beats chavez jnr in summer he will get a shot at pavlik in Oct/Nov

on macklin he says he is an unknown in US. therefore he will only get shot if arum can take him for 9 months and put him on a couple of his televised shows to build up his rep, maybe against people like rubio etc. at the moment he wont get a shot cos arum says he is not marketable in US yet. i think he mentioned bout tryin to sign macklin but couldnt cos he was with ricky fatton.

on lee he basically said he cant work with lee's management team, end of. he has problems wit them before messing him round so as long as lee is with them he wont get a shot at pavlik.

he also said frank warren was the best British promoter?

That was the jist of his interview as far as i remember anyway

In that case it's a good thing Pavlik's not going to be champion for too much longer anyway.

There's rumours(and that's all they are at the moment) that Macklin has left Hatton promotions, if true there's only one place he's headed as far as another promoter goes.
Also giving up the European title doesn't seem to make sense if you're going to continue fighting in Europe.

Macklin's now trained by Roach, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he were very soon promoted by To Rank and fought pretty much exclusively in the United States. Bob can give him guys like Rubio to feast on. A decent name, a big ranking, and beating him would almost certainly him into the pool of credible contenders for Pavlik. Unlike the winner of Duddy v Chavez jnr.
