TV3e Match Coverage

I've nothing against Liverpool, and wouldn't mind seeing them win tonight.

But the lack of objectivity on TV3's coverage is astounding! A Liverpool defender slides in with his hand in the air, and said hand prevents the cross.

Initially, the commentators were calling the penalty "dubious", then they were on about how it wouldn't have been given if the linesman hadn't been behind the goal, and now they're calling it "unlucky" !

I know there are many Liverpool fans in this country, but in all fairness they're not an Irish team, so there's no reason for any bias; even if they were Irish, that level of bias just kills the commentators' credibility.

The coverage as a whole has absolutely no credibility. The set/presenters/pundits/sound quality/picture quality (sometimes), it's all fairly abismal.

it was a joke. dont know who the commentator was but the way he was going on about the second penalty and how it shouldn't have been given was ridiculous.

Irish pundits/people in general don't have a clue about football.

    Just tune in channel five.

That fat bastard Trevor Welsch or whatever way its spelled is the WORST commentator of all time, he makes Jimmy Magee look good. Its gotten to the point where if I have to watch TV3/3e match coverage I have to do so with it on mute!!

The commentary is brutal alright, but not as bad as the sh*te they talk after the game!

And as for the commentators being objective, the second guy was saying "we" when talking about Liverpool!

The co-commentator was ex-Liverpool player Mark Wright, hence the "we". Who was that bloke sitting next to Phil Babb and why was he there?

And Matt "Smug" Cooper is hopeless as a pundit, he's more interested in licking the other pundits arses.

Sorry Mike I thought you would get sarcasm.

I was noting that the poster was complaining that Irish People/Pundits know nothing about Football. And yet one of the pundits was English.

Fives not great either, especially when the commentator gives a summary of the Jean Claude van Damme film coming up after the game, DURING the game!

Oh my God they are awful. I remember in the Lille game, Ryan Babel scored and they said that it was David N'Gog that had scored and did so for another 30 minutes, even after many replays and continue to mix up the players....the only similarities between the two players are that they both play for Liverpool and are black

It couldn't have been as bad as their bias during the Manchester United game on Tuesday. It was appalling.
