Morgage protection claim - Genworth

We are in the process of claiming due to redundancy. Just before x-mas we recieved a policy update which said that "redundancy benefit will not be paid for the first 60 days of redundancy".

We recieved a letter today regarding our claim which says "the first payment is made after you have been registered unemployed for a minimum of 90 days".

To me this means one of two things.
    1. They have amended the terms without informing us.
    2. There is no payment made for the first 60 days and the benefit begins on day 61. They then let 30 days benefit accrue before making the first payment after 90 days.

Has anyone claimed with them before and if so can you confirm which one is correct?

If anyone else has any other advise it will be appreciated.

    Thanks
