Benidorm - Vegas dropped!

ITV has confirmed that Johnny Vegas will not be returning for the fourth series of 'Benidorm'.
His character The Oracle has been dropped from the show, along with teen mum Telle Garvey and bickering couple Martin and Kate Weedon.
Their departure will make way for a new line-up that will include another couple of swingers and more of battleaxe Madge Barron's daughters.
Speaking about his axe from the show, Vegas told The Sun: "Benidorm's happening again but I won't be part of it. Unfortunately, it will be fun in the sun without us."
The decision to write Vegas' character out of the show follows comments he made about it during an appearance on Graham Norton's chat show last year.
When quizzed about filming in Benidorm, he told Norton: "Everyone goes it’s like the Blackpool of Spain and you go, no it’s not... I’ve had fun in Blackpool. It’s like Christmas every day. But Christmas... in an asylum."
'Benidorm''s creator Derren Litten responded afterwards on his blog, writing: "What I... have a problem with is Johnny painting Benidorm as this horrific, unspeakable place where it’s impossible to have fun. Something millions of returning holiday makers to Benidorm every year would disagree with."
Litten added: "This also comes after shooting 'Benidorm' 3 where, one night, Johnny confided in me, “all my friends are embarrassed I’m in this show”. I didn’t really have an answer to that. I still don’t."
'Benidorm' returns for a Christmas special later this year, ahead of a new series in 2011.
