I'm struggling with Lost this year, i've really enjoyed most of the previous 5 seasons but this feels like a let down to me so far. I realise that there could be a big reveal at the end but the side way flashes are boring the hell out of me and even the stuff on the island hasnt been that great apart from when Jacob is around. This isnt a whine about Lost i just want to be better able to understand it, so i'd be grateful if some of the expert losties could give a run down on what we've learnt so far this season, maybe im missing something.

    Thanks

I've rewatched all of the episodes up to season 5, and season 6 is a huge disappointment, in season 2 and 3 their was some brilliant episodes especially near the end of the season, season 4 was cut short because of the writers strike but still asked plenty of questions and kept the audience wanting more.

Reasons why I don't think season 6 is working is because were missing some of the best characters from the original line up. Locke is dead, Sayid is a different character, Ben is just a mere reflection of the person he was in the earlier season's. Its Walt and "Where's my Bhoy?" storyline all over again with Sun and "Have you see Jin, my husband?". All of a sudden we have loads of new people appearing who were always on the island, the people in the temple and Widmore's crew.

I think it was a mistake to kill the John Locke character off, Jacob and MIB would be more credible if they were their own people as 2 separate entities.

Every episode just has the appearance of being a filler with all the flash sideways which I sure will be explained in a 20 minute segment that will be worthless to the diehard fans of the show.

The writers just set out season 6 for viewers who never watched lost and they could start here.
