Apologies if this has been asked already

I am currently on JA and there is a postgraduate Diploma (over 6 months, part time so would still be job seeking) that I would very much like to do and that I believe would greatly enhance my career prospects. I cannot afford it though and was wondering are there any grants etc for someone in my position for a course such as this?

    Many thanks!

Make an appointment with the job facilitator at your local social welfare office and see if they can help you out.

This was my experience. Last year I too found a course, actually suggested for me by FAS adviser, that would really enhance my work prospects. However when I applied to the education person located at social welfare office I was informed that the course I had chosen was no longer eligible for grant assistance from them as it was not in the area of Science or Technology, and only courses in this line will be funded due to new government directive. However it would be worth asking them. I got the number of the appropriate person in social welfare from the FAS office. Otherwise, you could try the county council. Best of luck with it.
