iPhone prepaid data roaming details

I'm just wondering if any can give me a comparasion between O2 and Vodafone's charges for data roaming while in other EU countries. Basically buying a new phone to give me easy internet access over the summer cos I'll be moving around a lot. Assuming major cities will have plenty of wireless hotspots to use the wifi on, but I'd like to not be solely dependent on that either.

I've read the Vodafone billpay phones include it in their 2gb monthly package so it seems logical that the prepay one would take it from the 50mb for 99c daily charge(which is charged every day you do anything at all online? even when you use wifi? Presumably there's ways to stop that?).
Don't know anything about O2's rates however.

Edit: meant to change the title to point out I was asking a question, sorry about that.
