What?! They can vote for their own holidays?? Is there a way to find out who voted yes for this?

Do they use this time to work in the constituency offices or are they actually taking holidays?

    breakingnews.ie

How can they honestly think after all that has happened that they should do this, baffles.

If this was any other day, I'd think this was genuine - just for today though, I'm a wee bit suspicious.

I could look quite the fool it would seem...

However I did hear a radio report on Phantom that had Gilmore saying that they should only be taking a week with the state of the country and dole queues. He actually made some sense. Also said that 'do you all really think the public wants to see us take this time off'.

Yeah, that's pretty much guaranteed to be an April Fool. Just like the story on RTE about leprechauns bailing out the Government.

Too bad they posted their extra holidays joke after noon. Now they're the fools. ;)

Wouldn't be a bad idea though. Just think, the risk of major fcuk ups would be reduced by another 2 weeks,

Are you confusing teachers with Tds ?

The Teachers, after a couple of weeks ' work' since returning from their week off for mid term in February which followed the couple of weeks work since their two weeks off for Christmas which followed from their week off for mid term in Oct/Nov which followed a few weeks work after their real holidays of three months in the summer are getting two weeks off for Easter.

It shows just how FUBAR this country is when an April Fools joke is so totally plausible.

What's the count? 6 that are holding onto teaching positions? Well for some to have a job at the moment, and then another to fall back into if they so wish.
