At first I thought 'April fools!' but this is probably true.

The Dáil has voted itself another two-week holiday today - just a fortnight after returning from their St Patrick's Day time off.

TDs will leave Leinster House this evening and not be back until Tuesday, April 20.

The Labour leader insisted they should be back after a week off and be discussing rising dole queues and the other challenges facing the country.

its gotta be a wind up!?

Edit: if it is true then they are indeed the biggest shower of ungreatful w*nkers ever

If its a Aprils fool, its a bad one, as this sounds exactly like something these eedjits would do.

sounds like a joke, but i'm pretty sure the people of ireland would do nothing about this if it were in fact true.

It was just on the RTE news about this.

They should have given themselves a permanent holiday.

Has to be a wind up but a very very unfunny one

This happens every easter...nothing new. Most probably didn't notice. Too busy enjoying the boom.

Jeasus, prob' another wind-up but I wouldn't even suggest the idea.
They would jump at the chance quicker than Bertie mysteriously producing betting slips!

Even if it does turn out to be a joke, that description will still be valid.

This is not an April Fool or a wind up.

Best time of the year to do it, nobody can take it seriously.
