Poker Pro To Donate WSOP Tournament of Champions Winnings To Charity – If He Qualifies!

“Vote for Marty” Facebook Campaign Aims To Get Boylepoker pro Marty Smyth Into Invite-Only Tournament; Smyth Pledges Any Winnings To Children’s Hospitals

Dublin, Ireland: April 1, 2010 – Boylepoker.com today launched a campaign to have its sponsored pro, Marty Smyth, voted into the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions invite-only event this summer in Las Vegas.

Smyth has pledged to donate any winnings from the $1 million freeroll to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Dublin.
The winner of the 27-player tournament will walk away with $500,000.

Paul Spillane, head of poker at Boylepoker.com, said, “Not only has Marty won a WSOP world championship event, he’s won the World Open, Irish Open, and Poker Million. Surely that’s the pedigree of a true champ and his generous gesture of donating any prize money he might win to children’s charities in Ireland, should see the whole country swing behind him. It’s a no-lose situation for the children’s hospitals so get voting now people!”

Belfast-man Smyth, who is getting married next week after trying to reclaim his Irish Open title in Dublin this weekend, already has a sizable voting contingent on the ‘Vote for Marty’ fan page on Facebook. He qualifies for the tournament vote having won the WSOP Pot-Limit Omaha World Championship in 2008.
