Windows Vista has known issues with WPA security.
If you have the Cisco wireless modem it uses WPA as the auto password.
If you change it to WEP that should resolve the issue for you and you'll be able to connect.

Connect up your computer via ethernet cable.
You should have internet access straight away.
You then need to log onto the router itself.
In the address bar, of any internet browser, simply type in 192.168.1.1
When you press return, it'll ask you for a username and password.

Leave these both blank (no admin password is defaulted on the Cisco) and press ok.
It'll bring you to a page where it asks you if you want to set up an admin password, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

There'll be a line of options going across the top, click on Setup on the right hand side.
That'll bring up a list on the left of the page.
The Wireless options are down near the bottom.
    You're looking for Security.
When you click on that it'll bring up the info on your router security settings.

On the left hand column it'll say that your Primary Network is enabled, and a few options down it'll say WPA-PSK enabled.
    Switch WPA-PSK to disabled.

Underneath that it'll have WEP Encryption disabled.
Switch that to enabled with 64bit encryption.
At the very bottom it'll ask you to enter in a passphrase.
You're better off making it numerical (a mobile number or something is good).
Then once that's typed in, press generate.
The four boxes above will then generate security keys for you.
They'll be a series of numbers and letters.

Take down the first one and that'll be your new password.

Click on apply at the bottom, and you're all done.

When you try and log on to the network wirelessly, enter in that new password, and it'll connect straight away.

(It's not as complicated as all that makes it out!;))
