Hi, I recently got into a little bit of DJing and Presenting with a community radio station here in Athlone. I'm what you call an MP3 DJ and use my laptop alot for everything.

What I'm looking for is some starter equipment to plug my laptop into to bust a few tunes out with. For example, I'd like to get my hands on some 500 watt speakers and an amp or what ever the device is called, please correct my ignorance. I have a few CDs and hope to increase my collection, but I want to hold off on buying CD players and Mixers for the moment as well as lighting systems.

All in all, I want to start out with some cheap equipment and get some experience, because I love music and want to begin doing some djing and creating my music in time. Any help please!

I read the beginning to dj thread. What should I do with respect to creating mixes and mashups. I use Adobe Audition, Mixpad, Wavepad and Audacity for editing and zulu for playing from one track into another. Will that cut it, or is there other pieces of software I should use to improve my mixing abilities and create some tunes.
