    Hello everyone,

My Name is Vanessa, I am 22.
I am a young newcomer author from Germany.
I have done some short stories, which have won some national newcomer prices but now I am working on my first novel which probably will be published in spring 2011 (earliest).

So enough of introduction let's get to the interesting part.

    Now I need YOUR help.

I would like to interview some Irish people, since the main story of my book will take place in wonderful Ireland.
I have already been to Ireland and also I have Irish roots (my American grandfather married an Irish girl). And I love this beautiful country and it will be the perfect place for my novel.

But I need somone to tell me special things about Ireland, "insider" information, and some things not so special, like the everyday-procedure, or young people who live and work on a farm.
I would also like to interview students, which can tell me more about their universities and studies. I am also looking for au pair-girls which have spent a few months in Ireland and foreigners which moved to Ireland to work and live there.
Or maybe you just want to talk about your homecountry? Tell me everything! Everyone who has something to tell me about Ireland can write me.

The book will be a fantasy lovestory, it is some serious work and if I am lucky it will be published in Ireland / UK, too but this is nothing to worry about, now. :)
Of course your name will appear in the book.

So do not hesitate to write me an E-Mail, to: Vava.E@web.de

I am looking forward to your messages. It would be nice if you'd first introduce yourself (name, age, job, where do you live, hobbies) and I will have some questions especially for you.

    Thanks for reeding,

    Bye

    Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,

I'm trying to think what forum would be best to post this in so as to get as many useful replies as possible. In the meantime, can you let us know a little bit more about what exactly it is you want help in researching?

For example, if you have specific questions about life in university in Ireland you might want to give us a brief outline of what the character is doing and what you need to know specific to an Irish context - typical accommodation, food, subjects studied, hours of lectures, social life, that kind of thing. The EDU menu at the top of the screen has links to all the major third level institutions in Ireland so you could probably get very exact information there if you know where your character is going to go to college.

Unfortunately there's no "Moving to Ireland" forum but there are several social forums such as After Hours (Rec category), Humanities (Soc), Ladies' Lounge (Soc), Gentlemen's club (Soc), Parenting (Soc) and many more where your various questions might find detailed answers.
