    Hi all,

I know they're like hens teeth at the moment, but is anybody looking to offload a Tavor TAR-21? I was quoted €480 brand spanking . That's a little ouch!

Anybody got a previously loved one for a more affordable price?

    Al.

    Didn't think so. Ah well.

I'll go without food for a month and I'll be able to afford one.:D

Have you tried hobbyairsoft? I think they had a couple left going cheaper than that (at least they did).

Hmmm, I e-mailed them. I think they said that they could get me one, but that they wouldn't recommend ARES at the moment. That possibly, I should go for a different manufacturer. They didn't quote me a price either.

But AFAIK ARES are the only kids making a Tavor right now. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Either way, I didn't get the impression that they had any in stock. When I get the funds together, I'll probably order one. Quality Airsoft Supplies said that they could order one in for me no problem.

    Thanks anyway,
    Al.

    Al

    i wouldn't recommend a tavor!:(

i HAD one, got one of first few in the country and sent it back within a week, fire selector was faulty! there is nothing but problems with them when they are factory stock!

heard of people getting them with no hop ups or anything attached!

i only know of one guy who basically stripped an refitted his upon purchase who hasn't had any issues and its his pride and joy!:) anyone else i know that has one curses the day they bought it!! what should have been a top class aeg was ruined!

hope this isn't considered thread spoiling! just giving u feedback as a previous owner!

Well I don't consider it thread spoiling. Thanks for the info. I'll have to find an AEG I like in that case. M4s just don't do it for me. And I'm unsure about the whole Aug thing.

I'll keep looking. Thanks again for the info.

Got one of the first Tavors myself.
No problems at all with it awesome gun.
Put a tightbore in it and a guarder hop rubber and nub.
Only problem I had is when a team mate accidentally broke the quick release spring catch!!
Luckily I made a stainless steel one at work on the lathe:D:):D

No complaints at all with it.
If you can get one go for it.

i was wondering out of interest how much you where lookin to pay for a tavor?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,144 ✭✭✭alanmc

Well I don't know really. I was quoted €480 for a new one. That was waaaay outside my price range. I guess I was hoping for €300.

I've kind of gone off the idea to be honest. I'm due a new lid soon, and I like to spend a decent amount of money when buying my bike gear.

    Why do you ask?

    I have many questions....

So you stripped it down and effectively rebuilt it? What exactly did you do to it? What was replaced?

Also, is it the long barrel or short barrel version?
Did you ditch the MARS? If so, what's there instead?
What else (if anything) is in the package?
    Can you post some pics?

    V. interested now. Maybe I wasn't as gone off the idea as I thought I was.

Also, if it's your pride and joy, why would you be selling?

    Al.

Redone it to left handed (fully reversable), that all, all original parts, short barrel and still has the mars sight, justworks really well, great range. Have two guns i love equally, i believe if you dont use it constantly it aint fair to keep it.

I'd be happy enough with that.

Throw up some pics when you get a chance, I'll have a good ole think and we'll talk turkey.

    Very nice. Very nice indeed.

Ummm, so would you take the €300 for it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 199 ✭✭12 gauge

330, its worth it, you'll know when you game it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,144 ✭✭✭alanmc

€320 and I'll (virtually) shake your hand.
Just to clarify, that's for the Tavor, the original mid-cap mag, the original MARS, and a battery.

It's not a big job to de-leftify it, is it?
