    Hi,

Just looking for a bit of advice here as I am considering buying a ticket off a guy but he is resident in another EU country:

If I was to buy a concert ticket off a guy and I send him the money via paypal and he does one of the following:

    1) Never sends me the tickets at all

    OR

    2) Sends me a an envelope but there is only a pieice of paper in it and no ticket.

What can I do in this situation? I would have emails to and fro each other where we agreed the deal and organised the payment through paypal.

He lives in a foreign country too.

Am I in anyway protected by paypal and guaranteed my money back?

    Thanks

If he sends the envelope with nothing in it via registered post, you're screwed for the most part since paypal will see that as proof of delivery. However if you pay with a credit card via paypal you could *possibly* get your money back if you file a chargeback against them with your credit card company

Get some sort of delivery confirmation or tracking number if available for the type of delivery method you use. You can ask the seller to email it to when he/she receives payment. Check the feedback of the seller as usual.

    Thanks for your replies.

My worry was that he could easily send an envelope by registered/couried post but no tickets in it and while I would received the envelope etc. it would be my word against his that there was no tickets in it.

As I mentioned in my original post, I wouldn't have purchased the ticket over ebay just talked to him on another site and we exchanged emails re: me buying the tickets off him.

However it's possible he has an eBay account and if he does and I buy the ticket off him via eBay and pay with paypal(my credit card is used for my paypal transactions) would I be more secure that way?

You'd be a bit more secure that way, but still well open to being scammed. Also, eBay will charge for this, which the seller may not want.
