The Donegal Association together with Donegal Tourism Ltd, Donegal County Council and Failte Ireland North West invite you to Temple Bar Dublin on Sunday 16th May 2010 from 12-6pm.

This is a one day outdoor event to showcase what County Donegal has to offer to you the visitor. Up to twenty tourism sectors will be represented and entertainment will be provided by well known Donegal artists throughout the day. We are also inviting a number of Donegal Personalities to lend their name to the event and attend on the day.

We have a number of prizes secured for the event to date including 1000 free hotel nights in Donegal, 1000 round trip coach tickets courtesy of McGinley Coaches and various holiday packages in association with Aer Arann.

    More info to follow.....

Please put forward any ideas you have to help get the word out.

Good to see the industry coming on board.

Donegal needs to look massively at its marketing, its seen as far from Dublin and its a few hours closer than Kerry but the Northern Ireland Market was taken for granted and now has fallen away big time.

Aside from attractions and coastline etc, Donegal has a huge amount of Entertainment and were it marketed nearly as highly as golfing for example in the past it might get more domestic visitors.

It seems the only people who market that are the businesses themselves. Donegal Tourism, and Bord Failte have failed to get involved in weekend breaks for that market at all though Gweedore, Donegal Town and Letterkenny were built on it and have now too many hotels for Golfers, Walkers and sightseeing. Also its not weather dependant.

Thank you, we will post it again in Dublin.
We are looking for ideas and help to spread the word, the official launch is 12 April in letterkenny.

This is every sector coming together to help promote Donegal and their sector.

It will be marketed through TV ads, Radio ads
    Facebook, Wordpress, youtube, etc etc.

This is the start; we meet yesterday for the first time in the mt errigal hotel. Over 100 people from all the different sector’s turned up. Pressure is on.

If you are Facebook, there is a group called 'Discover Donegal - Don't Dream, GO!' Its well worth joining if you are looking to promote anything Donegal related, it has over 3,000 members. Im a memebr and I check this group every second day. (I just see that you have already joined!)

WNED television, its based in Buffalo in upstate New York and broadcasts to Canada also, every Wednesday they broadcast a program called Out of Ireland where they profile a location or recent headline. The program has its own site http://www.outofirelandtv.com/site/page13.cfm

    Some very useful links here

Also, Irish Connections magazine could be worth an enquiry

From an east coaster, that's news to me! Def something that the campaign could highlight.
