    Hi all,

sorry if this has been answered before, but with the recent job prospects here I'm looking at teaching jobs abroad, mainly Dubai but Europe too,
just wondering does anyone know any good websites to look at? (a lot of the searches Ive done on Google seem to come back with scam reports!)

also I remember during the PGDE last year there were recruitment agencies about college (UCC), talking about interview days being held here, typically though I cant remember the names of these agencies or when the interviews take place so any info on these would be great :)

    Thanks :)

I did the PGDE in 2008/9 and couldn't get a job at the end of it, so I joined an agency called uteach recruitment and they got me one in England. The usual format is uteach ring you to tell you about a job and ask if you're interested; if you are the school will call you for a telephone interview- if you are successful in that the ask you over for a day to give a lesson and do a formal interview. The beauty of uteach is they pay for your flights and accomodation, so you really have nothing to lose. I believe they also have recruitment days sometime in May where English schools come over and hold informal interviews.

Do you mind me asking what your subjects are dukedalton? Did it take long for you to get a job in England?

Geography and History. I got the second job I went for. Anyone I know who wanted a job in England got one, but don't underestimate how difficult it can be to up sticks and move. I'm finding it tough.

The VIF programme might be an option. It's for America though.
