Love them. Used to buy lots of them and given them out as gifts. This year, Lindt have stopped supplying 200g bunnies to the Irish market and, except for a handful of "specialist" shops, you can only get the 100g which is too measly to give as a gift.

    But...

    Last year: 200g bunnies 2 for €9
    This year: 100g bunnies 2 for €6

    That's a 33% price increase!

as for the price I cant say much as I havent looked into it however I know that this year they have launched a white and dark chocolate versions and they claim to be responding to customers who tell them that the 200g was "too big"!!

to be honest all easter eggs are reducing in size or add on's this year in an attempt to reduce their general price due to recession etc.

    Ha!

I was in London at the weekend, they have the 200g there in every shop, so it's just the Irish market where they've removed it and replaced with a smaller, more expensive choice.

They are 2 different things, it would be like me saying all off licences are a ripoff and have "increased prices" since a 200ml naggin of vodka will usually cost more a lot more per ml than a 700ml.

I thought I saw different sized ones in tesco. Also check €2 shops, they often get stuff intended for the UK market.

We've got our milk, white and dark chocolate lindt bunnies at £2.99 each or 2 for £5. They fly out the door ,the 100g bunnies are very measily looking we didnt even bother getting them!

That would be true if both products were available. If they remove the 700ml so you can only buy 200ml, then the higher price is relevant.

This is also bad, IMO. The big retailers from the UK can buy from that market and sell the product here. The smaller Irish supermarkets who can't source from the UK can't stock them.

I got some when I was in London.

I would still expect the 200ml to be more per ml, makes perfect sense (though many supermarkets now play on peoples assumptions and mulitpacks/large size are often more expensive.)

I think they can get stuff from the UK, but it could be a grey area issue, i.e. if the supplier visits them they might not be impressed. But you get foreign coke in chippers, and UK bars in €2 shops. I think some member here was a retailer who sourced from the north.

I had a €3 HB voucher and was in tesco, turned out lots of HB stuff was UK Walls branded, not sure if HB still do them but I expect they are importing.

I remember the Cornetto TV ad from years ago in the UK for Walls, and in the identical ad over here Walls was dubbed "HB". You didn't need to be an ace lip-reader to spot it either. Another multi-national charade.:pac:

Oh I LOVE Lindt bunnies, I didn't realise they had been available last year in 200g form!On the Tom Dunne show earlier on this week, for the numbers quiz - the prize included a 1KG lindt bunny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Drool fest!

At least I think he said 1kg, I can't imagine a 1kg lindt bunny, it would be just too yummy!
