Can someone explain- goals buy?

Hi,
Racing post paper recommended
Inter vs CSKA Moscow 8pts to buy goals 2.8.

I know 8pts is a high recommendation- the higher the points recommendation the more they fancy it.
Buy goals means that there will be goals.
But 2.8? Does that mean there'll be over 2.8 goals? That bit I don't get.

Lastly I haven't seen them give a 8pt tip in ages....that's what drew my interest.

What they are saying is there will be a lot more then 2.8 goals tonight.
Obviously if it's a 3 goal game, you win 0.2, 4 goals 1.2 times your stake and so on.
If it's a 0-0 draw, you lose 2.8 times your stake, 1 goal game lose 1.8 times.
They just fancy a lot of goals in that match.

Isn't that sporting index recommendations? I don't understand them but is like a spread betting.

Looks like not a great bet to me so.
if I bet €100 and there were 3 goals I only win €20.
If 4 goals then I win €120- good return.
A lot of games could be high scoring but end up drab affairs (one team holds out for ages, loses 2-0 or so.)
It also opens me up to losing a lot. Won't touch it so.
