Heard this on Today FM this morning but nothing on the website. Apparently Carlton are doing 50% off tomorrow on April Fools day or so Ian Dempsey would have you believe. In any case their Flights/Dinner/2B&B for €159pp is fairly decent. http://www.carlton.ie/special_offers

Again if this isn't true all complaints to Ian Dempsey, but if it is - all thanks go to cson :P

It is true. Cheap hotels for all!

Of the ones I've stayed in;

Galway: Old Ryan Hotel. Nice with a decent leisure centre and nice bar & restaurant. Very kid friendly which is something to take into account for both sides of the fence - great for families not so much for those looking for a quiet weekend break. It's a little out of the city too so you'd be well advised to bring the car.

Kinsale: Opposite to Galway; very much geared toward the couply quiet weekend away. Nice leisure centre and nice rooms. Bar is a little small and lacking imo but the restaurant has fantastic views over the lee. Bit off the beaten tract though, a good bit out from Kinsale so again the car is a must.

Dublin Airport: Basci airport hotel, free shuttle nice lobby/bar and standard rooms. A good place to book if your from the country and heading out on an early flight the next morning; its usually worth the money not to have to get up at 1/2am and drive or bus it to the airport.

I hope you know that the Shearwater is in Ballinasloe and not Galway City? :eek:

Maybe it's just me but this deal seems rubbish - I tried this for the Carlton Dublin airport and it was giving me E79 for 1 night B+B for 2 ppl. Does this mean it's normally E158?

You can get the room for E85 at any time. I have stayed at the Carlton Dublin airport before and it's a good hotel but not worth E158 for 2 ppl B+B.

I emailed them asking to confirm if the E79 includes the 50% off but have not yet got a reply.

I'll be using www.lidl-breaks.ie instead - used one earlier in the week and it was very good value for money.

Which hotel was this for?

I am looking for Carlton Dublin ariport in June and it's all coming up as E79.

It was for shearwater.
Maybe worth a phone call or if you write on there FB page carlton hotels they get back to you pretty quick.
79 isnt a good deal for airport hotel. In fact thats pretty standard for around the airport.

Mmm, seems to be a con. Rates for Dublin airport aren't any cheaper than what I've paid on several occasions in the past year.

I agree, I checked it out for May at the Airport Carlton 79euro on the "special offer" and their standard rate is 89euro hardly a bargain or 50% off!!

just back from our 50% off deal, went to bunclody carlton, was a lovely hotel, food was fab, meal deal before 6:30 for e20, had dinner in the restaurant very very nice, but for me the hotel in Ballinalsoe is a wee bit nicer, food is fabulous in B'sloe. Would recommend the spa if you can, wish i was there now :o
