Hi All,what is the best way to receve a deposit for goods on my website, normally i receive a few hundred euros as a deposit as i have to purchase the materials, but customers might be frightened away by paying a large deposit,im in the process of setting up paypal, and will look for €100,just to try and get a deposit/order locked in,does anyone have much experience with this
    Thanks Jamesy

    Pretty simple do.

Just have a shopping cart. Person buys the product online as normal. On checkout then the shopping cart just calculates that 10% of the total price needs to be paid. This price then is filtered through to either Paypal or your payment system.

Simpler version would be to list your products on a page. Use Paypal buttons (setup through your paypal account) then to hardcode the 10% cost. They click the button and are brought to the Paypal checkout process.

If you need someone to do either of the above give me a shout.

You can use Billing Boss to raise invoices with a pay by credt card option or Xero to raise an invoice with a pay by paypal link on it

Giving a client an official invoice will give them confidence.

Obviously this involves human input unlike the suggestion above but you will have to enter the invoices into your accounts at some stage anyway.
