    What a gig.

I thought Space was the pinnacle but couldn't have been more wrong. This place blows Space out of the water. There's room to dance eveywhere you go even though there's way more people there, the sound system is better and the atmosphere is great everywhere. (I know one's a nightclub and the other's an annual event so a direct comparison is somewhat unfair, but this is just to give some perspective).

DJ-wise Sven Vath really got it going at 3am and, for the most part, it stayed at that level or better from then onwards. The only exception was Richie Hawtin whose live Plastikman show was terrible. Anyone there who agrees? I know he was trying to promote his new Plastikman album or whatever but i thought he was taking advantage of his good reputation because he knew everyone would stay for the whole show. It was just build up after build up that went nowhere. I for one was gone after 20 minutes (to Garnier), and my friend who stayed for the whole set/show said afterwards he'd wished he left then too.

But Dubfire picked it up after Hawtin in that room to get everyone in back in the mood with some serious tech house. Then Locodice, Marco Carola and Ricardo Villalobos played 11am - 3pm. Madness. And the craziest thing of all was that at half 2 day in the day the place was packed with everyone dancing like they only got in an hour ago!

Couldn't get to everyone obviously. Anyone there with verdicts on others like Chris Liebing or Felix Crocher? And opinions on Hawtin's show?

If, like me, you're keeping dance gigs to the minimum or small amount these days, make Timewarp 2011 a priority.

what exactly were you expecting from a plastikman set? were you aware of his plastikman moniker before hand?

I had heard samples oh his previous plastikman work and it wasn't too dissimilar i suppose. Also, i'll admit the visuals were excellent and went along with the beats very well.

However, my point is that musically it didn't fit with what had went before it and was a bit of a mood-killer, considering it was played in one of the main rooms. I'm not saying there's no place for different genres at events like this, but it was sandwiched between banging sets from Sven Vath and Dubfire. Not a huge problem when there are other rooms but could've been if that was the only one.

Anyway, i guess live "shows" should be taken as such.
