Very sorry that you have lost your dog, but the CSI stuff where they hit a few keys & grainy low resolution images suddenly reveal a whole load more information is pure fantasy. If that video is the best quality you have then you will not get plate number from there.

its better quality than a picture a chap in motors put up a few weeks ago and someone got the number plate from it. Sadly the top of the gate in this one seems to block the reg. Hopefully the owner finds something out. Why was the dog out on the footpath in the first place though? Not giving out but if you can afford gates and video, surely a bit of chicken wire isnt out of your bank needs. Retrospec is a wonderful thing though.

the focus of the video changes a bit so you might get a better idea of the number if you go through the video frame by frame yourself even if you got a few numbers and make of the van you might be able to identify the people.

the video you can look at is probably better quality than anything on youtube as these videos are optimised for size once put up.

if it was slightly better you might be able to at least get an idea of a few numbers or a range of numbers that might be the van also the fact that the person taking the dog had red hair might help too

I'm afraid the quality is way too low on youtube. Is the quality of the original video better? If so you can drop it in to me on disc is meath street and I can have a go, if I cant I can at least upload a still for others to have a go. I'll be there tomorrow, pm me if you want to.

while we're at the CSI stuff, there isn't really any proof that the van owner too the dog, is there? You couldn't see the person who picked up the dog getting into the van and driving off

Why was the dog outside your gate in the first place ? I know its not helpfull but if you cared that much about the dog it shouldn't have been outside on it's own, not on lead etc etc hind sight is great.

would animal & pet issues be a better place to post this?
those black screen text inserts are very distracting and i also notice that the video seems to be cropped in the first part. you really need the original footage to be uploaded. what ever program you used to create this could have added compression a second time which makes the licence plate illegible.

The vehicle looks like a Volkswagon Transporter commercial van. As you can see I would really need a better quality image to get anything from the plates.
