    Hi all,
I just tried to call the social to get them to update my records so that I can use PAYE online but there was a recorded message to say that due to industrial action they are not answering the telephones.

Is there someone else I can call or do I have to go to the office?

Unfortunately not. This work to rule regarding telephone answering began in January. The only option is to go to your local office. Its frustrating but at least it will get your issue sorted.

    best of luck

I wouldn't advise that you go to your local office, as they unlikely will be able to help. They can't amend the PRSI records, and they in turn would be trying to contact their colleagues, who don't answer internal phone calls either.

Your best bet would be to write directly to PRSI Records Section in Gandon House, Amiens Street, Dublin 1. At least you will have a record of sending in your request.
