Coach: Guy Noves - Coached Toulouse since they went pro, the Alex Ferguson of rugby. His team are contenders every year. Declan Kindey is a very close second. Ironic that Mr. Bloodgate is nominated.

I have tried to keep my irish prejudices out of this one


I have tried in particular to recall the teams that have contributed most to making the HC what it is today....wasps, leicester, toulouse, munster etc

I cannot choose Elsom in the team for one season of HC no matter how good he is.

Likewise I dont think i can really go for BOD as alltime player of the HC, depsite him being pretty much player of the decade all round

have to have a read through and a quick think but Elsoms 1 season was something like 5 MOTMs in a row, but still don't think he'd take it over BOD or ROG

Declan Kidney is a shoe in for coach surely? Even against Noves.

Good to see Christophe Lamaison included. The year Brive won the Cup is one of the great matches, certainly one of the great finals, in my recollection.

Not sure why Gatland and McGeechan are both nominated ? Either one or the other were responsible for Wasps' success ? If both, why not Shaun Edwards also ?

Boarhunter, this is based solely on Heineken Cup form not international where you cannot fault him. Hes always been exceptional in the Heineken Cup.
