Heading to Dingle for a stag weekend in a few weeks time and might bring the clubs along. Would love to play Waterville, but looks like a 2 hour drive from Dingle, so probably won't be possible. Anyone recommend a course near Dingle? Is Dingle Golf Links good?

Id highly recommend Ceann Sibeal (Dingle Links). We played Doonbeg, Lahinch ,Waterville, Ballybunion, and a few others and Ceann Sibeal more than stood up to those courses. Very friendly, great food and a tricky golf course with a meandering burn / stream that caught me out loads of times. Worth a visit and good value. We did however find it tricky to find / signposted?

Lovely Course. Well worth playing. Agree with everthing LOFT said. And like most clubs around can really really do with some green fees!!

That burn is on 11 holes and once you're in it you have no chance.
It's not a big stylish course like Waterville, Ballybunion etc., with big dunes, but you need a damn good brain to get around it successfully. Definitely worth your time.

Castleisland, Killarney x 3, Killorglin, Dooks and Tralee would be the courses closest - and close is not a word I'd use. Stick to Ceann Sibeal - you'll need to play it twice to appreciate what you're up against

Ceann Sibeal is a lovely course and also on the way to Dingle there is a great 9 hole links course called Castlegregory and if you are going to play a second round this would be a good choice. Killorglin would be another 18 hole not very close but might be on you way and is a good value relaxing not over challenging course which might suit your needs. Ceann Sibeal have lots of open competitions on at weekends with good prices so it might be worth checking when these are on

Would agree with the Castlegregory shout. I played it there with a group of 11 others over christmas. The course was in great nick and was a nice challenge over 9 holes.

Agree about Castlegregory too. Real links land and if you have the time I'd definitely head there as it's not far from Dingle. Enjoy the view from the top of the Conor Pass if you do head there!!

    + 1 on Castlegregory. Conor's pass and a hangover however is -1.

I had one fault with Castlegregory, on the day we were out, we played our first 9 holes in 1 hour and 45 mins (3 ball). When we finished the 13th we were close to 4 hours out on the course, so we headed back to Dingle(Ireland v's Scotland on tv). As we got to the 10th tee there was two four balls on the tee box. The two four ball groups ahead we as slow as a wet week. Four balls on a nine hole are a bad idea. IMO.

I got in contact with the club, who in fariness to them are going to send on a free round to us. Don't be put off by this story as it might have been a once off.

I'd agree with all the good things said about Ceann Sibéal. And green fees are very reasonable there, at the moment. Magnificent on a breezy day.
