Housewife of the year

While I was lazing on the couch last sunday watching football, I began to notice how busy my OH was, hoovering tiding cleaning obvisiouly it was spring clean time.
I leapt up out of the couch before she started cutting the lawn and making a show of me in front of the neighbours and grabbed the lawn mower and off I went.
As I was cutting the lawn I wondered is there a competition like The Calor Housewife / Partner of the Year Award that I could enter her in.
I know she isnt rearing 11 children under the age of 12 while milking 40 cows and minding the turkey farm while Im busy at work but at the same time she does a fair bit.
So why was this competition stopped and is there any chance it will be brought back. Is there any other programs like it and John Player Tops that could be resurrected?

My mother-in-law won the regional Housewife of the Year and went on to the final about 35 or so years ago ;) Most of the winners of the Mum of the Year, Housewife of the Year type competitions seem to have children with some disability etc so not really for the majority of people.

I liked Tops of the Town when it was on so wouldn't mind seeing that come back.

But she is missing 3 of the 4 entry requirements.

    4. Baking over an open fire to feed the 11 mouths

    does she do that?????

I'm sure they had a Nurse of the Year thing as well. When I was about 14 I wrote to Arthur Murphy's Mailbag saying they should have a Ban Garda of the Year but he never read it out.
