I was wondering if Porcelain Veneers are a replacement for Orthodontist treatment or is it something that one does after everything else is ok as a sort of cosmetic thing?

Can someone also tell me what would it cost to get all your teeth crowned and porceloin veneers puts on them ,basically a perfect set of teeth?

20-50 thousand euro depending on your situation. There are a LOT of variables and there is no way you can get an accurate quote for something like this without a thorough dental exam.

about 800~ per crown and nearly as much per veneer. I cant see a great reason to do both though..

Hard to say really without examining you. Veneers or crowns are not a substitute for orthodontic treatment.

As general rule if your teeth are crooked or you have a problem with your bite then you need orthodontic treatment. If the teeth are straight but broken down, discoloured, worn or heavily filled then you need crowns or veneers. If you have both crooked teeth and broken down teeth then you may need both.

Best to go to your dentist and discuss

ask ronan keating, that's what he did(n't) do when he turned solo. so i've heard. i don't read that kinda stuff.

anyway, if you go for the crowns/veneers option, you have to hope that you don't have any trouble post op, because if the tooth is rotated, and you need anything along the lines of a root canal treatment, then you're at a disadvantage straight away.

Is it common for an orthodontist to reject a patient for treatment? My teeth are heavyly filled and I have had 3 rooth canals

an orthodontist would only really reject a patient if the hygiene wasn't up to scratch, or if treatment wasn't really necessary. if you need to make space to straighten the teeth out, it'd be more than likely that some of the root treated teeth would be extracted.

It is necessary , I would have to have a surgery or 2 to correct my bite, but I concede my hygiene has not been great.Im thinking of going to another ortho, how long should I leave it?how long would it take to get good hygiene back?

if a patient with the worst hygiene possible really puts the effort in, there's no reason why hygiene can't be brought under control in a couple of months, with regular reviews.
