Hey so Im a singer/songwriter from Julianstown, Co. Meath. Iv done a few gigs before but not much. For example Iv performed in the spirit store in Dundalk, done charity gigs for hmv and openmic stuff, also I study music in college so I perform a lot with that. But Id like to get into gigging, it doesnt matter to me if its for free or if its paid for, I mean eventually Id be aiming to get paid for it but I know everyone has to start somewhere. Im not sure where to start, how to get the gigs or whatever.....Does anyone have advice on where to go to get gigs in my area? Thanks :D

    Hi,
Sarsfilelds pub in drogheda hold a session I think it is every Friday called a bag ful of songs. It is like an open mic but I think you have to book a place in advance, might be worth doing as you will make some contacts.
Also the garden room sessions run gigs in McHughes in drogheda seems to be a similiar sort of deal, you will find them on facebook.
