    Hi all,

Just a question we have on our new build.
We have in our new build a curved wall that will need to have a curved kitchen installed.
we havent thought about it much but do you think that this could be a problem when designing the kitchen.

Does anyone know if there would be much hassle in getting a curved kitchen in?
any good people out there that install or design these kitchen for a good price?

    Cheers

I've never installed a curved kitchen in 14 years. You won't be able to buy anything out of the pack that will do, so your talking about a bespoke kitchen. Depending on the size you could be easily into 10's of thousands if you can find a joiner who will make it.

Is the house architect designed? If so is the architect recommending anybody?

If you have your heart set on it anything is possible but you'll need deep pockets.

    thanks for the reply,

    Just on that -
would it be possible to use the same units (square units) and just have a curved kitchen top?
so only the kitchen top would have to be sourced and curved?

    Thinking of a work around

If you are dead set on going with a curved kitchen you are better off to do it right and spend a bit more money on it. You will regret it down the line if you cut corners.

You could use standard units to create a curve but it would look very staggered, imagine a 50p under a 2euro coin. You would still have to source the worktop and it won't be cheap.

As well as that depending on the circumference of the curve you mightn't get a sink to fit and won't have any overhead units.

Is the curved wall a design feature? Could you get away with squaring the kitchen side of the wall and leaving the other side of it curved in the other room/hall?

we were looking at our problem last night and we may get around it.

There will be one long way, which the most of the units will go. at the end of that wall in the corner- the wall curves - nothin to major but enough to have to get a curved worktop and think about putting the cabinets at an angle.
overhead units may be an issue.

I must get talking to a kitchen designer this weekend before the builder finishes building the wall, we still have time to change it if necessary
