yeah that fella in Red Barn had to do a few things with it when he got it home, the instruction dvd didnt work and those mags you need for it are very sensitive , i seen one empty its bbs in a pouch on his vest. it looked like a 40mm hit him ha

I don't see the big deal with em, even with systema's really.

its trying to be super realistic yet it sounds like a turbo'd pencil sharpener and has no recoil. I'd soon spend my dosh on a good GBB rifle, at least then its actually realistic and you can find parts very easily.

Agreed. PTW style AEG's came under threat the minute WA released that M4. Now that WE have their line out and have CO2 magazines for all-weather use, I'd pretty much consider them buried.
With specialised AEG's like those, come specialised parts. That means they're harder to source, with longer wait times and more expense. It also means there's more to go wrong (a reason I avoid EBB rifles and Star gearboxes).

PTW style rifles exist to make firing an airsoft rifle more realistic, with restrained rates of fire and functioning bolt release on reloading. GBBR's do that, but also give you a more realistic feel and weight, compatibility with more RS parts, a properly dampened bolt carrier, meaty feeling mags and, crucially, recoil.
Recoil moves the goalposts completely, and it also means your horrible whiney motor/gearbox sound is replaced with a satisfyingly deep "clunk" from the engaging bolt carrier.

It also works out an ass-load cheaper, even costing in CO2 mags with RA-Tech valves.

My advice is not to buy one until you've at least tried out a GBB rifle once. They'll become more present at skirmishes as the weather gets better but I'm sure someone would oblige to bringing one along if you asked. I've had the highest end Systema PTW I'm front of me beside the cheapest AGM clone M4 GBB and I'd have taken that cheap-ass clone any day, and not just because it was a solid grand cheaper...

for the price of them id rather buy 2 top end m4's personally...i couldnt justify spending that much on 1 aeg

Had an AGM GBB m4, loved it from day one, the look the feel, thought it was as close to the real steel as you could get, But, it was so unreliable was lucky to get off 50 rounds on one charge of gas, tried both red and green, damn shame but it had to go back.
I am tried of buying airsoft guns and having to take them home strip them out and replace parts just to bring it up to standard.
So I was hoping one of these Celsius CTW would be savage from day one, now it seems no matter how much you spend you will always have to upgrade some part of it,
Some one please point me in the right direction!!!

Well, comparing the reliability of a cheap chinese clone of the WA GBB rifle to a gun that's gonna cost ya 650 notes is a little lob sided really,

you could easily pick up a KJW M4 GBB, a G&P etc all for less than the celcius yokey.,

the dboys ptw clone should be out in the near future as well so might be forth hanging on to have a look at that if your heart is set on one

The A&K one is ready to ship, you should start to see it within a month i reckon.

there were a few CTW's in rathbeggan sunday gone and i didnt see anythin with them that would make me want to spend €650 on one..just like any other regular AEG in my opinion

Yip - I've now seen one in the flesh and ... err, well it was an aeg ... you know.
I agree with the GBB love above. Rack back an AGM GBB M4 and the sound (clunk/clack) is enough to make you want one! Sure you need to do a bit of work on it, but it's worth it in the end. Just can't understand how you could justify the price (and I'm one who will try to find ANY excuse to buy new toys if the bank balance will allow it).

I was not comparing the 2 I was answering Nakeddex reply!

... and wasn't having a go at you for giving your opinion - edited the sarkiness (unintentional) from the above. I just can't see anything about the celsius that is any better/nicer/more worthwhile than any other aeg of similar or lower price. So if it was me I'd take the 650 squid and buy a nice king arms, g&p or similar aeg - one with proper markings (instead of the celsius ones) and correct body stampings etc. That's if I wasn't after the celsius for 'similarity' to real steel workings (i.e. working bolt catch etc).
If it was a case of me wanting something closer to the real steel I'd have to go with GBB. So to me these celsius machines fall flat between two chairs - they're neither justified in pricing to compare with similar high end aegs and they're not enough like RS to be a worthwhile substitute to GBBRs.
But, like all things I post on here, what the hell do I know - just opinion dude.

So the piston is strong enough to take a few mallet-blows (not hammer, that thing had a nylon face) of unknown force and the barrels can support the an unidentified weight for a solid 3 seconds. That may be impressive and everything in the video, but who hammers the side of their piston and stands on barrels in regular use?
This is what we call "brag testing". Knowing your product is good in some way and then playing the hell out of that in both relevant and completely irrelevant ways. It's like being told you can get a roof rack for a Maserati. It's entirely possible, but why on Earth would you?
I've seen shattered pistons once or twice, but the most common failure I've seen with them are stripped teeth. Solution? Stronger teeth. Shattering didn't happen because they got a bang on the side, it happened after tens of thousands of cycles causing stresses and minute, microscopic fractures which propagate into cracks.
The barrel test is a complete joke. Not only would you never have a situation where you have that much, or indeed any, weight on them, they have an outer barrel and a front end body to protect them from any would-be forces. The most weight a rifle usually sees is if you chuck it in the boot of your car and throw your gear bag on top.

Silly tests showing no real relevance. I hate that crap.
