Rent Allowance Not Arriving?

I was awarded rent allowance, the first installment of which arrived last month around the 22nd as a cheque via the post for the whole month. This month however, nothing. I thought the first one only came by cheque as it was backdated for all of Feb and I'd get it with my dole every week from them on. But that never happened, and so I then assumed I would get it in the post at the end of the month.

But its the 29th now and still nothing, I'm getting rather worried. Anyone know what the story with this is? Or where I can go / contact to find out?

    Cheers.

    Hi
I get my weekly in the post office - always have (got my arrears in PO too when I first applied).

Perhaps a phone call to your CWO? (I know mine still answers the phone)

Sorry I cant be more helpfull

Is it not the last Wednesday of every month? Which would be tomorrow?

Rent supplement is issued on the last monday of the month to arrive in your account ( depending on the bank ) on the Wednesday. Mine however did arrive last Friday.

I received nothing last month due to a change in my circumstances. I was not aware I had to advise CWO of a change so they cut me off. ( I was awaiting a long time for a social welfare payment) You must advise them of the payment being received, if you dont their system issues an alert & you automaticly have supplementary welfare cut off.
Is there any changes ie you were awarded a payment you have been waiting on ?
Only thing I can advise is go to your CWO dont wait to see will it arrive like I did ( Big tool me !)
Only other thing was there was an announcement last week of an extra days delay on payments. So this could possibly be the reason.
best of luck in resolving this.

Were you sent any details from the CWO about method of payment. My bil receives rent supplement from the CWO. He collects it weekly from the post office on a friday. He collects his social welfare payment on a wednesday so he needs to go to the post office twice in the one week. You need to talk to your CWO as soon as possible.

Went down to the CWO early this morning and they gave me a call back this afternoon. Apparently (as people said) the payment is issued at the very end of the month and should arrive today or tomorrow. I was just a little paranoid as my first cheque arrived on the 22nd.

Is it not a little stupid that it arrives so late though? as its a cheque it'll take a few days to clear in my account and I'm supposed to pay my rent at the start of the month.

Anyways, tis all sorted now. Thanks for the replies! Thought I was out on my ear ><

You can cash your rent allowance cheque in the post office straight away. Just need to bring ID and proof of address.
