While I'm waiting for the offer 'scorthy ... is Martin Sludds still the pro down in Enniscorthy ? First pro I ever played with, was a member of The Island at the time

No DoctaDee; Martin 'retired' from his position which is now filled by Stephen Fitzpatrick PGA. Martin is a very genuine and principled guy and he is still in the area and can often be seen practising away on the driving range attached to the course.

Oh right, thanks 'scorthy, always wondered what became of him when you consider he was a 2 time Irish PGA Champion. Cheers Dave

If you mean Enniscorthy; it a tough long parkland course and though there are no water features (expect for the bunkers where I had to tie two rakes together with a trouser belt last night in the snow to retreive my ball) the well placed trees and rough make for a challenging course for the low handicapper and a test for the novice or high hc'er. There is a massive effort this year to get this aspect of the course right - once and for all i.e. the bunkers. Although there will be minimal disruption in fairness and I'm sure the club would value green-fees accordingly. New franchisé starts Friday. The clubhouse is one of the friendliess & casual you'll find on this fair Isle.
