Back in september I got an iMac 24inch and I paid 1399.99 euro which was the same as the apple website.

Here are the prices on the apple website:

Here is a comparison of the UK apple website here:

and the UK PC World site here:

    http://store.apple.com/ie/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac?mco=MTAyNTQzNjA

Some of the prices even seem to be cheaper on the PC World site

They certainly used to. I remember years ago going in with the intention of buying an iBook. It was 200 extra. And it was an old model.

Give john grainger a call in custom computers, 014565640, I've used them for a few years now and they're excellent.

    apple.ie is your friend.

Ironically Waterford is the managing director of PCW's home town.

be aware that you can get a sizeable discount if you are in education- have a look at the Apple education prices if you are in study or have a family member studying.

I wouldn't buy from PC World. They have the worst rep. I thought Mac's were generally the same price everywhere???

Ultimate irony today I discovered the Mac Pro (8 core system) is €1999, which is €1000 less then the Apple site. Guy in there from Apple (not PCW) says PCW want to get rid of the stock.

Great price, especially if you're looking at a high-end 27" iMac and can spend a little extra. This is the one in Swords (Airside retail park). Worth asking about at the very least.

I was in pcworld in Carrickmines this afternoon. They are selling the base quad core MacPro for €1500. It's €2,300 from the  store. My 3 year old macpro will do me fine for the moment but this is a bargain! I really was tempted.

I've been looking at an Imac all week and found this online today

    €1799 http://store.apple.com/ie/configure/MB953B/A?mco=MTM3NDc2OTI

It was the same base price in Harvey Normans, Blanchardstown but the extras like warranty were cheaper online.

They didn't have the new Quad core model in PCW Blanchardstown but the older model was €1499. Do you think there's much difference in speed? I'm a photographer so I'm tempted by the better graphics card in the new quad core model?

Thanks for the tip for Carrickmines PCW - will give them a call tomorrow. Are you sure it's the new quad core model as I was told in Blanch that they didnt have it in stock?
