Hi everybody, I've just come across some of the more technical and recent work by Biologist/Naturalist E.O. Wilson (and his co-author Bert Holdobler) and I feel I must share this insane work.

Ants seemed about as interesting as the stress they continually cause during hot summer months in my kitchen yet I've come to re-think the entire situation.

The above lecture on the new-ish book http://www.amazon.com/Superorganism-Beauty-Elegance-Strangeness-Societies/dp/0393067041 has literally floored me by describing the society ants make for themselves.

The parallels to human society is scary and illuminating at times. At the least this lecture will shock you beyond belief (assuming your new to ants) and at the most it will encourage you to, as I am now about to do, ask whether anybody has an old copy of this book they'd be willing to sell ;)
