Does anyone know if you can bring small bike pump in carry-on hand luggage onto eu flights?

Although not explicitly listed in DAA's banned list I'd be happier knowing if anyone has travelled with a pump.

It would be a risk. Tools are banned. I've had a completely innocuous hex wrench taken before. Is a pump a tool? In general I wouldn't travel with anything like that I could not afford to lose.

That someone got one on before doesn't mean you will, I had travelled with the hex wrench on many flights before they took it from me.

I presume you are bringing a bike unbagged and don't have a seperate bag booked? You could always affix it to the frame and secure with duct tape.

Travelling light - I'm hiring a road bike, helmet, pedals at destination + now it seems a pump (as you say; not worth the risk)

i had a small spanner (with bottle opener) been on my ky ring for about 10 years last year belfast international decided it was dangerous (didnt notice i'd forgotten to take my liquids out of my bag)
all these rules are completely arbitrary and you may or may not get through
and nothing much to do with airline security either

You can carry a helmet on board no problem, I do that any time I travel.

Most of the bike hire places give you a pump and spare tubes as standard

I had a metal mini bike pump taken off me at Nice airport. Nicely, I told the guy where my bike was parked (I wasn't flying with it, I had simply cycled to the airport) and he put it back on the bike for me, it was still there when I got home.
