Brit commercials on Brit channels in Ireland

Is it wrong to find it strange to turn to TV3, BBC, etc and find that they have British ads for British services that have British currency attached to them here in Ireland? Why is that? I mean, I get that yeah, the channels are based over there, and a good portion of the products advertised are found here, but it's that they're advertised in pounds instead of Euros.

Why do British channels have ads for British people as opposed to Irish people?

    Really?

    The BBC don't show ads.

Why do RTÉ ads show products in € up north and on the western fringes of Wales?

If you turn to TV3 and find it's a British channel, that's wrong.
If you turn to BBC and find any ads at all, that's wrong.
    It's all wrong.
How does this worry you when you're living in the States?
