    Hi all,

Giving the wife a jailbroken 16gb iphone next week and am thinking of putting her on the best of both on 3.

40 mins and unlimited texts for 15 a month and she can then top up. Then 9.99 for 1gb of data.

It seems good value if you mainly text, ant thought ???

Has anyone else an iphone on the 3 network ?

I have an iPhone and was on 3 but on Meteor now. I would avoid a plan that includes texts as if you download Jelly SMS or Eirtext you can send your web texts just like a normal sms for free.

Also, 3 dont have Edge coverage, so when there is no 3G coverage available, you are stuck, where as Meteor have 3g, Edge and gprs.

For €10 a month, no contract, Metoer will give you 50 mins and 50 texts(plus a load of web texts that you can use via Jelly sms or Eirtext), and you can buy a 250mb data bundle for €4.95 which is plenty for most if you have access to wifi at home.

300 web texts...............my wife would use that in a week:D

we need a plan with unlimited texts to all networks.

Just to add is data 99c per day on O2 ???

She is on O2 and has free texts already so staying with O2 would be the best option if we could get a data bundle on pre pay !!

yeh they only have a 50mb data add on for 1 day and it costs 1euro rip off if you ask me !! as regards to the iphone not having 3G signal with 3 most likely there is 3G cov around if you already hav a 3G phone do a network search in the location that your wife will be using it in i.e your home i would defo avoid meteor there phone service is useless no matter where you are 3 data plans are more fairer than other networks i would love a iphone on the 3 network how did you jailbreak it just out of curiosity ?:D:D
even if there is not 3G signal around your area there will be GPRS from vodafone as used to have a 3 phone year or 2 ago and when my 3G signal would drop in bad areas of my house it would switch to vf GPRS signal as long as she buys the internet add on it wont take any credit from her for using the vodafone network it will switch automatically by the way ..and if someone here trys to say you cannot use data on vodafones signal well i did the whole time could be area dependant even better idea go to three.ie coverage maps type your exact address into the map and it will show if there is 3G singal around hope i havnt lost you with all this techie talk hehe:P:P

I'm using my iPhone on 3, I've only bought a €10 data add on which I use for texts, 333 webtexts per month, I also got some free credit, tenner I think, and I get free calls at the weekend. There is a bit of a problem with the Internet, I always need to try to download a page twice before it will download the first time I open safari, I'm pretty sure it's a network related issue as there is no prob over wifi and I only restored the phone at the weekend, mine is officially unlocked

I think 3 is the way to go as we have wifi in the house and its only really for work and when she can't connect to other wifi.

Techie chat not lost on me, i'm doing the 3g search when i'm at her building tomorrow afternoon. Google mast search from the com reg site will show the nearest mast around.

The main things we need are unlimited texts and a decent data bundle ??
