Deirdre de Burca calls the Greens to restore Green Pride

    Deirdre de Burca hits out a bit at John Gormley and the way the Green Party has gone since entering power.
    I think she is saying what the vast majority of the public are saying, but it is nice to hear it from a Green 'member'

    It saddens me to say that since my party has entered into government, there now appears to be a distinct reluctance to embarrass our government partners........

    I believe that the Green Party needs to address some key issues now in order to make a stand for its core policies and principles and to re-assert its reputation as a party of integrity........

    I hope that party members will take the time to reflect on some of these issues and to give a clear message to the party leader that it is time to restore Green pride. Unless the party changes the way it has been operating in government and begins to assert the fundamental principles which differentiate it from Fianna Fail, it cannot expect voters to elect its candidates in future.

    She didn't have any problems being in bed with FF until she didn't get the EU post she wanted. Overnight she suddenly had all these issues with FF and the Greens.
