    Hey!!

Any of you guys know of any nice hostels in Hong Kong City or anywhere up the east coast of China, I am looking for something decent that doesnt cost the earth, basically anything without bed bugs where your gear would be safe!

    Cheers

Hostelworld is good for mainland China.
Hong Kong is fairly tricky. There's a lot of chancers there who own hostels and are constantly changing the names and entering positive feedback themselves. I stayed in the Yes Inn which was pretty good. Steer clear of anywhere that's in the Chunking Mansions

another big plus one for yes inn - its one of only two decent hostels in hong kong, and has shared dorms so works out decent enough value too.

Agree that Hong Kong is tricky for backpacker budget. The Sailsbury YMCA is a good option. Great location, 4 bed dorms, really clean.

Unless you're willing to really slum it, I would steer clear of Chungking or Mirador Mansions.

Mainland China has much more budget/hostel options, and they tend to be pretty good quality. They usually have less communal facilities than in other countries i.e no kitchen, but you'll have no problem eating cheaply.

    Have a great time!
