I'm looking to buy a blu ray player in the next month and I'm willing to pay between €300 and €400 on it.

What features should I be looking for to make sure I get a good one. Model suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It would need to be wireless though as my router is not in the room that I want to put the blu ray player in.

I'm also getting a PS3 this week for a different room so that shouldn't be one of the suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a feeling that would be the suggestion so that's why I made sure to mention that point.

I'm in the same boat as Steve, but I'm also interested in making mine multiregional. Because I don't believe in regions. :P

Has anyone easily de-regionised a good blu-ray player that they'd recommend?

Firstly, though many BR discs are labled as region encoded, they are in fact region free. There are lists about to tell which are and which are not locked.

After that, I can recommend Oppo BR players for their region freeness. They can be bought from the UK here.

Dune DB prime. OPPO, and the Monitsu are region arrangeable.
The BD PRIME I seen in a Dublin City Retailer.

Do you mind me asking which? Off to research it now, but the media player aspect has just captured my interest.

I have noticed the dune on pixmania, last week they had them discounted by 9%-10% but this week it seems to be now 14 and 15%, Not sure if this has anything t do with their offer which they say will end May 17 or if it is a permanent price drop.

Pity though, with the Bluray installed (Dune BD-Prime 3.0), they only seem to be able to fit a 2.5" drive (currently limits you to 500 GB). Where as the (Dune HD Base 3.0) takes 3.5" drives, so ample space for storing hi-def content.

Has anyone got one of these devices, and problems. Is the firmware stable, do they have good support etc...

    Thanks

Well 2.5" 1Tb drives are available but not cheep. Something about €249.
I have used the "prime" but find the interface a little sluggish.

Thanks hadn't realized they were shipping yet, I see dabs have them for under €200, wow, Just need to make sure they will fit the device, they are 12.5mm high, as opposed to the normal 9.5mm height that suits most laptops.
