    Folks,

Got an error trying to play bluerays in one of the ps3's here. Message reads "Playback of BD's Prohibited, Please contact Sony Technical Support".

There are no restrictions on the settings and I have compared it with my other one. Anyone got any ideas?

    Is it a copy?

Nope, its retail Bluerays I am trying. 3 in total (5 Different Discs).

Are any of them from the states or abroad?

    Thinking about region lock issues.

No, there are all from here. Both PS3's were bought in Ireland brand new in shops and the Bluerays work no problem in one but not the other.

The one its not working in is a 60 Gig, replaced a year ago with another brand new 60 Gig machine by Sony. It has no issues with games what so ever.

He got a much faster response from here than he would have gotten off Sony and the response he got wouldn't have been in the form of a generic email that Sony would have some desk monkey send out.

OP does sounds like a firmware issue.

    Check parental control settings :

    http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/basicoperations/parentallock.html

If that doesnt work and you have latest firmware then ring tech support.

I have the latest firmware, and its not parental control because its switched off.

BTW... Tallon not been smart but they don't have a clue what it is, hence why I am asking here in case anyone else experienced it.
