I'm looking for Wireless drivers for my Satellite pro L300-29D.
It uses an Atheros AR5007EG wireless card.

I've checked Toshiba's site, no joy.
    Atheros' site: Ditto.

Anywhere else I could find it?

I'm having problems connecting to my home network by wireless as the drivers that came with the laptop only support 802.11b, even though the card is capable of 802.11g. My router seems to not respond to B connections. The connection just times out after about 5 mins.

hope this helps, its for Windows NT up to Vista.

Already tried the Acer ones. No joy.

How the hell can Toshiba put this in a laptop and not support it?
    (Rage meter building )

    Thanks for trying anyway.

EDIT: One of the comments had a link to a Microsoft site and they seem to have all the drivers there! Wish me luck...

good luck! ;) do let us know! what OS are you using anyway or how old is the laptop? i only ask because it might be worth upgrading the card itself maybe?

No joy again. Drivers came in a cabinet file, and windows wouldn't accept the install.

Running XP sp3. Laptop was only bought late 2009 by my dad's place of work. Their tech support is so terrible I had to step in and try to fix it for him. Guess I'll have to manually find the file locations in the windows folder and swap them out.

NEVER GET A LAPTOP WITH AN ATHEROS WIFI CARD!

whoa whoa, before you delete that CAB file, granted its unusual packaging but WinRAR can open CAB files, the very same as ZIP files...

So can windows explorer, just like zipped folders. I'm not new to computers lol. The wizard didn't work so when I can be bothered I'll try manual.

Oh yeah, 7zip beats winRAR any day. Open source <insert generic comment of approval> !

completely agree, didnt realise you'd copped 7-Zip as WinRAR is more familiar to most people... :)

atheros.cz is unofficial, made by third party hackers/coders. I had a look there too but I'm not sure whether I want to risk it. Also the download page has an easy to miss download button, plenty of ads, and a page body full of assembly code. Very confusing lol.
