Deleting individual songs from an iphone

    Hi all,
Just picked up my new iphone the other day from vodafone (kid in a candy shop and all that..). I've never used itunes or had any other apple devices before so some of this is new to me. I transfered all my music onto the iphone the second I got it, but now want to delete some of the crappyer stuff. I checked the help menu on itunes and the nearest thing I could find was deleting songs from an ipod, but this didn't work.
At the moment I can see the music I have on my iphone in itunes and I can scroll through them, but I can only right click on an individual song which gives me an option to 'get info', I can't left click to delete it.
I'm hoping that there's something really simple that I'm missing here. Any help would be really appreciated.

You can't delete songs directly from iPhone, you have to manually uncheck the songs on pc you don't want and then Sync again.
I know it's pain, the best you can do is create a folder with your fav songs and just add that to list and sync also easy to update.

Thanks for the replies lads, unfortunitely it's still not working for me. I can see the song list and the check mark on the left hand side of each song but when I go to (left) mouse click it doesn't let me. right clicking will hight light the song but I can't uncheck it.

In iTunes, you want to select the "music" section, up the top of the sidebar on the left, not your actual iPhone that I suspect you are selecting.

Once you have done this, you can uncheck any songs you don't want by un-ticking the check box on the left of the name. You can also select multiple songs by clicking the first one and holding shift, then clicking the last one of a group in a line. Also, you can hold control (ctrl) and click on songs that are not in a row, but don't do to many at a time as if you miss click, you loose all your selecting. Once you select multiple songs, right click and select "uncheck selection"
