Right, so what are the beat songs about atheism?
I present a radio show during the week in college and we start the show with three songs on a theme, last week the devil, the week before god.

Obviously there's Losing My Religion by REM, but other than that and Religion by Soft Pack (formerly The Muslims!). The first is a bit obvious, so I want to know what else is out there!

Either Faithless or Freewill by Rush, or Imagine by John Lennon.

This could be a bit heavy, but give it a try.

Dear God by XTC is the first one that springs to mind.

    From the final verse:

"The wars you bring, the babes you
Drown. Those lost at sea and never found, and it's the same the
Whole world 'round. The hurt I see helps to compound that
Father, Son and Holy Ghost is just somebody's unholy hoax,
And if you're up there you'd perceive that my heart's here upon
My sleeve. If there's one thing I don't believe in

    It's you...."

    Arcade Fire's ‘Intervention’

    "Working for the Church
    While my family dies,
    Your little baby sister's
    Going to lose her mind,
Every spark of friendship and love
    Will die without a home"

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    And if god does exist
I am sure he will forgive
Me for doubting for he'd see
    How unlikely he himself seems

From the new album, which is really growing on me.

"I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore"

    he sewed his eyes shut,
because he is afraid to see,
    he tries to tell me,
what I put inside of me,
    he's got the answers,
    to ease my curiosity,
    he dreamed a God up,
    and called it Christianity.

    God is dead,
    and no one cares,
    if there is a hell,
    I'll see you there.

    he flexed his muscles,
to keep his flock of sheep in line,
    he made a virus,
that would kill off all the swine,
    his perfect kingdom,
    of killing, suffering and pain.
    demands devotion,
    atrocities done in his name.

Iris Dement's "Let the Mystery Be":

Everybody's wondering what and where they all came from
Everybody's worrying 'bout where they're gonna go
    When the whole thing's done
    No one knows for certain,
And so it's all the same to me
I Think I'll just let the mystery be

Some say once gone, you're gone forever
Some say you're gonna come back
Some say you rest in the arms of the savior
If in sinful ways you lack
Some say that they're comin' back in a garden
Bunch of carrots and little sweet peas
I think I'll just let the mystery be

Some say they're going to place called Glory
    And I ain't sayin' it ain't a fact
But I've heard that I'm on the road to purgatory
And I don't like the sound of that
I believe in love and I live my life accordingly
But I choose to let the mystery be

    Atheist anthems? Hmm...

    Must ... not ... hit ... send ... OHNO!

Sorry Comrades, couldn't resist. Well, it is a mighty tune, given a full-blooded rendition by the Red Army Choir, all ten million of them.

For Cold War nostalgics, the video is full of fine Soviet kitschy propaganda: hairy grandpa Marx, firebrand Lenin, wicked Uncle Joe, plus cameos from the Great Helmsman, Fidel, Khruschev the Clown, and a stuffed Brezhnev. Enjoy!

"What we need more of is Science" -MC Hawking.

Thoughts of a Dying Atheist- Muse (kinda, it's mostly because of the title. Some of their other Songs are Atheisty. I know Unnatural Selction has the lyric "I want the truth. No religion or mind virus, is there a hope that the facts will ever find us?")

Sympathy for the Devil- Rolling Stones. It's fun to be ironic.

Pretty much any album by Bad Religion or NOFX have some kind of atheist-type songs!

    Bad Religion- Faith In God

There's people in the world today
Who say they're Jewish, Christian and such,
    They're all ignorant fools.

They'll tell you you can't have your own way
unless you pay money and dedicate your life
Or you'll be damned in hell.

Don't be feeble like all of them,
You have your own brain full of thoughts and choices,
So use it don't let them use you.

It's all right to have faith in god
But when you bend to their rules and their ****ing lies
That's when I start to have pity on you.

    ...........................................................................................

    NOFX-Best God In Show

    I’ve no consideration,
    zero mutual respect
    For billions who suffer from
    rational thought neglect
    I don’t wanna waste a sentence,
    I don’t want a convert-sation
    That’s gonna end in disdain,
    disbelief and aggravation

And I find it’s getting harder to hang out
With grown adults who actually believe
In Santa Claus and Noah’s Ark
and that their god is the best
My distaste has turned into detest

    Who would read a 2000
    year old medical journal
    Techniques for bloodletting,
    advice on Trichinosis
    Would you navigate the globe
with a map of a flat earth
    Without DNA testing,
    would you believe virgin birth

And I find it’s getting painful to put up
With grown adults who actually believe
    In Unicorns and Creation,
and God always takes their side
That’s when my innocent jabbing turns snide

    Thank God for the Grammy,
    thank God for the touchdown
    Thank God for blowing up
    the enemy’s sacred ground

So how am I supposed to take
    anything you say seriously?
When you’ve swapped free will for faith,
    hope and pre-destiny

And it’s getting agonizing to hang out
With grown adults who actually believe
    Mythology and history
    trump physics and science
My aversion has turned to abhorrence

Losing my religion isn't about losing religion - its a saying from the Southern USA used to express exasperation. The video probably confuses matters with its imagery but its mostly martyrdom stuff which makes sense. The song is about unrequited love

Heres one not mentioned - One Dimension by Simian
