    Hi,
We're looking in to getting some champagne/sparkling wine for the toast at our wedding. Corkage is free. About 200 people. We were recommended a sparkling wine called "prosecco marca trevigiana" - Would this be acceptable for "The Toast" in lieu of an actual champagne?

Definitely! I don't know anyone who's had actual champagne for the toast, because it just works out really expensive. We're doing an 'open round' for the toast, it works out the same price as getting a glass of wine for everyone as the hotel have done a deal on it for us. I don't know much about wine, but from what I've heard from other people Prosecco is generally a very popular choice as a sparkling wine.

    Hiya,
Cheers, yep we have the usual wine with the meal, it was just for the toast. Bought a few choices of sparking wine just to see, and the Prosecco tastes the best as far as i can see, and extremely good value. Just wanted to make sure it was socially acceptable alternative to Champagne(which was be a crazy price if you are talking 40 bottles)
