here is one option you could use youd have to put it the uk dialing code
    Phone: 0845 122 0301
thats wha i did wit my buffalo router i had huge problems wit nat type 3 on it so range the support line and they guide'd me through it now useing a net gear router they are by far the easiest to configure i have nat type 2 and didin have to do anything to the router youll need to find the ports needed to get nat type 2 or the other option of dmz and find out hoe to set up a static ip address on ps3

You need to know the make and model of your modem/router.

If it is a Zyxel then i would try the forum :
    http://forum.zyxel.com/

I found a few posts quite easily...
Some firmwares allow you to change it from Telnet command. So Telnet to your router and try
    ip nat cone
If you can see several numeric options as reply, then your firmware supports the change.
The PPPoE user/pass has nothing to do with this. You need to use the admin password to Telnet to the router, and this migth be 1234 by factory default.

    OP

I was having issues with my router - granted it was different.
    Missed the first key step...

Set your PS3 to have a static IP address and then follow the port forward stuff again... Once I did this my NAT type became type 2.

Just goto Network settings > Custom > Manual (wired/wireless)
enter your new Static IP address eg 192.168.1.55 (I like mid range numbers so there won't be a conflict)
Enter your 2 DNS somethings - your provider should give those
Enter your default gateway - normally 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 - this is the IP you enter to access your router.

Try that first and then see how it goes - have to reboot after portforward - but when I did all was cool. Also left my PS3 on while I was doing the port forward - just laziness on my part but who knows.
